I just so happen to be a highschool typography expert.
I myself have made a total of about 80 fonts but most of them are not for sale/download.
Anyway, here are some online resources that I go to when I’m in need of a specific genre of a font:

For free fonts, take a look at the Acidfonts website.
It has a large and varied collection of free fonts and dingbats for download. The fonts are sorted alphabetically and in style groups which include Sci-Fi, Graffiti, Horror, Halloween, Christmas, Retro, Stencil, Valentine, 3D and a whats New Fonts section which is updated daily.
